Rewind...

Posted by Heather

Blogging backwards in time. Ektor came this weekend and we headed off in the 70 degree, sunny California weather to San Diego for some beach hopping.

Ended our day back in Irvine for dinner at Joe's Crab Shack, this has become one of our favorite places:

Palm trees and quite beaches in Mission Beach:

Walking the board walk at Pacific Beach:

Sharing our lunch on the beach with our flying guests in La Jolla:

Spring starts in March in California:

Seal Beach, La Jolla:
(can you see the pups? its pupping season right now)

La Jolla Cove:
This isn't Sea World, this is the real world. Mommy seal teaching her baby how to get up on the rocks:

Different shades of blue, blue water:

Despite being sunny, that water is still cold! Surfers are relentless:

Hey how did Princess Orea on her thrown get in here?
(I have surrendered this pillow to her. When Ektor comes and she cant sleep in "her" spot, she meows all night until I move over and let her share MY pillow. What a spoiled cat!)

FYI, a very selfish woman recently sued the city of San Diego because she believes that the beach once intended to be a "children's pool" and has now been taken over by seals should be returned by to humans. Why cant man and beast live in peace? So, believe it or not, she won and now the city is forced to not let the seals come in, which they have been doing for over 20 years...thats 20 pupping seasons, and instead...die. Its horrible and makes me sick to my stomach. If you cant tell from my pictures let me tell you, there is sooo many other places to swim around that area, cant the seals just have one little beach? So I have joined the activists in trying to help petition this decision. Its really so so sad, this could be the last time you see the seals of Seal Beach.
