I know I have blogged a million pictures of NYC over the last couple years but this trip was extra special. When I left NY and watched the city drift slowly past my Jet Blue window in late July, I couldn't help but wonder when the day would come that I would ever not be a New Yorker. I think after living in the city you really become a part of it; its culture, its smell, its feel. And you think, in some way, that the city feels you too. But the reality is, the world continues to turn and life continues to go on without you. And I realize that my life has continued to go on without something as silly as a stupid location, but its not just that I left behind. I left behind friends that I love and share so many memories with, countless subway rides and the familiar sounds of the train, bundling up to go outside, how to walk and act like a New Yorker aware of the 8 million people inhabiting the same city as you, seeing so many faces on every city corner..I really could go on and on. But the most important thing I left behind is my heart. I cant say I left my happiness because I am not that type of person to not make the best out of any situation, but my true happiness remains 3000 miles away from me, in the form of Ektor, in the form of our memories, in the form of a city that I still feel part of in so many ways.
Here's some pics of my trip back. I was amazed to see how many things have changed. Ground Zero now how a lot of ground work and a huge LIR terminal and the taxis have a new logo. It was a little too cold for walking around, but we managed to see some familiar and missed sites during my weekend stay.

My heart:
Balthazar is a famous restaurant that I have always wanted to go to but lack of funds and time always got in the way. This time I decided to suggest brunch there with all my favorite girls. It was a hard reservation to get, and a little pricy, but now at least I can say Ive tried there brunch and enjoyed every bite of it:
You are not allowed to take pics inside, but Ektor managed to sneak this one:

The good thing is that NYC is just a plane ticket away!
