...and what a wonderful day it was! We got up early and walked along the beach (corniche) allowing me to take in all the sites of Abu Dhabi and get a ton of pictures. The weather is absolutely beautiful with a nice cool breeze making it amazing walking weather. We went to the Emirates palace and then stopped at a very fancy mall. For dinner we took a city lights cruise on a dow which took us on a nice voyage around the city and serving us with the best meal we've ever had! We had so much food that, in order to not be wasteful of course, we asked if we could take it home. They mistook that for "please make us a new full course meal" so I think we left looking like very fat and glutenous Americans. But the day and evening was awesome. I am loving Arabia.
Getting ready for our dinner cruise:
The dow that we had dinner on. A dow is the traditional Arabian boat.
Me at dinner before consuming more food than I've ever seen in my life. Our dinner consisted of hummus, babbaganush, tabouli, fatush, grilled veggis, saffron rice, pasta with tomato sauce, green salad with feta cheese, two different kinds of Arabic bread, and 5 different desserts!:
The VIP access to the Emirates Palace:
Beach view with the bluest and clearest water I've ever seen (walking distance from Mom's house):
View from the corniche, mom's bike route everyday:
Our fruit shake which consisted of avocado juice (yuk!). The woman next to me was not so happy about me us taking a picture with her in it (against Muslim religion) so she gave us mean glares after this, but oh well, the picture is cute. Talk about west meets east...
I love animals, even mosaic ones:
Ah, what a vacation:

My FAVORITE falafal place:
The Sheiks of the Emirates (Abu Dhabi's is in the middle). This year the UAE celebrated its 35th anniversary:

A very fancy mall (which we went to and saw "Happy Feet"):
