Yes, I actually did say that when trying to figure out what the strange thing flying around my ceiling was. To make myself not seem like such an idiot, the thing was huge! I'm talking 3 inches long (that is NOT an exaggeration)!

I know in this picture the creature looks small but its really that light that is small. I was on the other end of the room when I took this picture using mega zoom to capture this. Just to put it into proper size comparison, that plastic outlet that the roach is right above is 3 inches long, I measured it this morning.

So this story really is just not told to be as funny as the situation actually was. Christine and I were terrified upon learning that the flying object was actually a cockroach. In our frantic screaming (with arms waving around the place) we ran into Christine's room, forgetting that her door is a SLIDING door and instead charging it until it fell off its roller. We then some how got it closed again just in time to stop the roach from flying into her room. After sitting there for about 20 minutes trying to figure out what to do, we slowly opened the door and bravely located the roach above the door frame leading into the bathroom area. Being the girls that we are, we ran outside until coming up with an execution strategy. To make this story short, we charged the roach with flying wads of Christine's practice MCAT and 409. And miraculously, the roach fell and ran outside the door which we couldnt shut quickly enough behind it. So yes, the roach is not dead...but at least it is living in the hallway and not in our house. I did flood the area next to the door (where it ran into) with hot water but I dont think it worked.
Check out the damage done to our apartment after getting the roach out. Luci is still trying to figure out what the hell was going on and Orea is hiding because our screaming really freaked her out (she was meowing while we were screaming by the way):

Notice how different bottles of cleaners are lying around? That is becuase we would get so scared when it would move that we would drop the bottles and run. Also notice the random wads of paper (that Luci attacked everytime we threw one), that is becuase we missed...A LOT!

Had dreams of cockroaches...yuck!
