All the times I have walked by Battery Park, I never knew that a 9/11 memorial was there. This sphere stood outside the World Trade Center and was relocated to Battery Park as a memorial of those who passed that day. There is a small "eternal flame" that was lit on the first anniversary of the attacks and symbolizes the need to never forget what happened. I know I never will.
